The Advisory Board consists of PhD Esa Ala-Ruona, PhD Marko Punkanen, Jouni Kettunen, and the coordinator, MA Elsa Campbell.
Esa is a music therapist, psychotherapist, lecturer, clinical teacher and supervisor, university researcher, associate professor and coordinator of the International Master’s Degree Programme in Music Therapy at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. His areas of expertise lie in psychiatry and neurology, as well as with patients with acute, and chronic pain, and psychosomatic symptoms. Additionally, he is co-founder of the VIBRAC Centre. He regularly gives workshops and lectures on music therapy nationally and internationally and coordinates the VIBRAC training levels with Dr. Marko Punkanen.
Marko is a Music-/Dance-movement/psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in private practice, as well as a university research at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. He is also director of the Nyanssi Therapy Centre, co-director of the VIBRAC centre’s training, and co-founder of the VIBRAC centre. From 2007 – 2011 he worked as a researcher in the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Interdisciplinary Music Research at the University of Jyväskylä. Marko also has extensive experience in trauma psychotherapy.
Jouni is VIBRAC's executive manager and is a music therapist and Vibrac-practitioner. His clinical practice is based in Jyväskylä, Finland and he is the newest addition to the VIBRAC board. He has been involved in an on-going study at the University of Jyväskylä concerning music therapy as a treatment in stroke patients' rehabilitation.
Elsa is coordinator of the VIBRAC centre and a Vibrac-practitioner, and holds a Master's degree in music therapy. She is currently working for her PhD at the University of Jyväskylä, researching the applications of vibroacoustics within rehabilitation settings for the management of chronic pain and mood disorders.
